The original Ebenezer Baptist Church sanctuary, where Dr.

King, his father Daddy King, and his grandfather A.D. Williams all served as pastors, is now part of the National Historical Park. Dr. King preached his first sermon here at age 17. The sanctuary is open for self-guided visits and serves as the site of commemorative services. The congregation relocated to the new sanctuary across the street in 1999.
