We distribute free fresh produce, canned and dry goods, dairy products, and frozen foods every Wed & Sat from 10am to 3pm. We are also a court-approved agency for those who need to obtain community service hours while working with our neighbors. Your role: Beginning at 10:00am, we will prepare and package food boxes/bags for distribution to families from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Afterwards, we devote one hour to cleaning up and re-stocking unused items. We are a non-profit community service agency committed to eliminating hunger for individuals, families & seniors. IT WILL HELP YOU PREPARE TO VOLUNTEER: If this is your first time registering, you will receive an application and information via email within 24hrs. If you don't receive an email from events@myovercomershouse.org, check your spam folder. If you registered within 24hrs of the day you are scheduled to volunteer, you may not receive the information. Please check your Hands on Atlanta account before coming to the agency to be certain you were scheduled to attend. When you are expected, you will find it listed in your Hands on Atlanta account under "upcoming opportunities". Please arrive at or before 10:00am and in comfortable attire for moving around and working. Your day will end at 3:00pm. Face masks are required indoors and are free to volunteers. We cannot accept volunteers who are under the age of 21. If you cannot work until 3:00pm or if something changes and you cannot attend, please cancel your registration. Cancelling online allows someone else to register. If you are a no-show three times, you will be prohibited from registering to volunteer using the Hands on Atlanta platform.
